Fun

Recently, Abby interviewed me for a paper she was writing for her human development class. One of the questions she asked me was "What has surprised you most about being a parent?" I had lots of answers, but one in particular. I am constantly surprised at how much I like these children of mine. I love them, but I also really like being with them. We have fun together and I enjoy their company. I certainly didn't expect such small people to be such fun companions, but they are my best little friends.

And one more thing. People can keep their sandy beaches, theme parks and trampolines, my kids just need some uninterrupted time with dirt to be totally and completely satisfied with life.
