the kids

After watching a few episodes of The Electric Company, Charlie started calling everyone Hector. It's hard to explain how funny it is when you ask him to go put his shoes on and he replies, "Ok, Hector!"

This morning we discovered Stella in front of the mirror saying "Oh, Cute!" over and over. Then she switched to "Pitty, pitty, pitty" as she stared and smiled at herself. Heaven help us when this girl is fifteen.

The other day Charlie was crashing around as I was cleaning up. Cam asked him to keep it down a little and Charlie replied that he was making music. Cam said, "you're right, that does sound like a snare drum." Without hesitating, Charlie looked up at him like his dad was the greatest fool of all and said, "No, Dad. It's a cymbal." We died. We have no idea how he picks this stuff up.

Apparently our family has been suffering from allergies, because the other day in the car, Charlie was yelling at Stella, "Stuh-luh, you are killing my allergies" and then, "Stella. Can't you see I'm trying to do my allergies?"

Stella has mastered the negative. I gave her some berries on her high chair tray and she carefully took each one off. As she returned each one to my plate she said, "No, Like."
She is my little shadow all day, every day. She loves to be held and be near me. When she is playing, she'll stand between me and the door and say, "No leafing" (no leaving)
She also says "ho kay" instead of ok. And it is awesome.
