Halloween 2012

It's official. I'm a fun mom. Just kidding. I actually did celebrate a holiday for a change, and boy did my little ones love it. Charlie had three costumes to choose from. It was a tough decision, but in the end,  he went with last year's dinosaur costume. The dino was lacking in accessories though, so he finished it off with a Captain America shield, an flashlight (courtesy of an Arctic Circle kid's meal) and of course his jack-o-lantern bucket.
Stella was a good looking little elephant. She is such a good sport and never even tried to take off her hood or costume. She just tottered around, pleasant as usual, falling constantly thanks to all that padding around her middle. She gripped into that pumpkin bucket and never let it go. She got the hang of trick-or-treating pretty quickly and yelled "thanks" at everyone. She also chewed through more than one wrapper trying to get to the good stuff inside.
Charlie still thinks Halloween is the best idea ever. He informs me daily that it is Halloween again. He loved collecting candy. He couldn't quite grasp what the "trick-or-treat" phrase was all about. I think for awhile, he thought it was to open the doors, and he would shout "trick-or-treat" at the closed door. If somebody offered a bowl of candy, he took as many pieces as he could get his hands on. When we got home, he would dump his candy out and just admire it, then pack it up, move it to another room and sort it all out again.
Cam was still recovering from the stomach flu from H.E. double hockeysticks, but my mom, Nick, Jessica and I had a lovely time watching the kids trick or treat.
