From the get-go Charlie has loved his sister, though his fascination with feeding her was short-lived. He calls her "Sella. Baby Sella. Baby Grill. Honey. Sweetie. Baby Sisser. Pretty Grill. Baby. So Cute." He takes good care of her. He likes to know where she is at all times. The first thing he does in the morning (after hauling his pillow and blankets and animals to my room and saying "hi mom" or smacking me in the face while yelling "wake up") is ask, "baby sisser is?" He can relax once he checks on her and makes sure that she is alright. He loves to make her smile and tickles her with good intentions. He kisses her all over and she adores him. She lights up when she sees him hanging on the side of her crib. Most of these pictures are from forever ago, but the love is still the same :) and also my memory card was full so I haven't taken many other pictures. She's gotten much chunkier and cuter
We started finding toys in her bed when we got home from the hospital
A rousing game of hide and seek
He loves to push her stroller-it is surprisingly UNhelpful
He supported her at her doctor's apt, until the paper on the table got to be too much of a temptation.
We're still working on the personal space thing
He joins in on anything Stella's doing. I threw a blanket over her seat to keep the sun out of her eyes Charlie joined her
Sorry to say that this is a pretty frequent occurrence. Stella dressed and cute as can be... Charlie in his oversize pajama shirt at 2 in the afternoon.
He always helps to get her headbands off
Common phrases: I got you grill. S'ok Sella. So happy to see you! Hi grill. Hi baby! Put baby down bed! Stop crying! I wove you Sella. Best friend ever.
Charlie was watching a show in the computer in the living room while I got dinner ready. Stella wasn't happy until she was right next to him. So she sat in her bumbo. They both watched Dinosaur Train and Charlie rubbed Stella's head the whole time.
***Not pictured: Charlie stepping on Stella, Charlie trying to jump over Stella and falling a little short, Charlie smacking Stella in the head repeatedly with a rubber spatula, Charlie smacking Stella in the head with a spoon, Charlie smacking Stella in the face with a broom, but also hugging her, kissing her and petting her head constantly. Thankfully most of the negative incidents occurred within the same week and hopefully the worst is behind us. Oh, except he dumped her out of her bouncer onto the tile floor this week..but that was an accident.
What a great big brother!
ReplyDeleteWhew! :) He sounds adorable with her! I love that he says, "hi grill!" and "I wove you sella" What a cute big brother! I love how sweet he is with her - maybe it's a baby sister thing, cause Matthew isn't that sweet with James! Cute that she has cars and motorcycles on her! I had to laugh about your comment with Sella being all dressed up and pretty and Charlie in his PJs! There is something about little girls clothes and accessories! Cute kids Whitney!
ReplyDeleteThe way you have of putting life into such a sweet way that the rest of us can relate to really makes me laugh....and feel better about my own parenting. Good job on both accounts!!
